| Program Description: You won't want to miss this event! Whether public, academic, special or school; rural or urban, every library has one element in common- a collection of material that fulfills the information needs of its patrons. This all day symposium will focus on a variety of topics relating to collection development: from basic skills such as the best methods for weeding and acquisitions to issues such as how future technologies and trends will impact the way patrons access information. This event has four tracks: 1. Basic skills such as weeding, book repair and acquisitions 2. Children's and young adult collections 3. Special Collections 4. Current and future trends affecting collection development With four breakout sessions and twelve speakers, this special event will have something for everyone. Breakfast and lunch provided. This symposium is funded through the combined support of Ohio's Regional Library Systems and through an LSTA grant. Breakfast and Lunch included.
